International Women's Day in Berlin

Today on the show, we’re talking about international women’s day, which happens every year on the 8th of March. I also want to note that for many feminists, International Women’s Day should be about inclusivity of the diversity of people who face gender-based oppression, including transgender and gender non-conforming people. Although we have a day off in Berlin, this wasn’t always the case. And leading up to International Women’s Day became an official holiday, there were debates about whether this would de-politicize the movement. We’ll talk about the day's history and what it might look like this year in Berlin. We also spoke with an artist about a collective studio space that is being evicted in Kreuzberg.
